The top-seeded superstar lineup—comprising newly crowned individual champion Abdelrahman Tolba, Abdelrahman Haffour, individual bronze medallist Mohamed Hamza, and Seif Elghayesh—proved entirely clinical in Abidjan, defeating Algeria 45–31 in a high-octane final.

The gold medal completes an unprecedented, absolute masterpiece of athletic dominance: Egypt has secured a clean sweep of all six team gold medals at the 2026 African Championships.

Egypt (World number 9) shouldered the immense pressure of the historic clean-sweep bid with total competitive poise. After receiving an initial first-round bye in the five-team draw, the defending champions turned their semi-final against Senegal into an absolute blowout, coasting to a 45–18 victory. In the gold medal final against world number 33 Algeria, the Egyptians methodically ground down their opponents. They established a steady 15–11 cushion after the first three legs, widened that gap to a comfortable 30–22 lead after six bouts, and effortlessly accelerated through the final rotation to make history.

Algeria (World number 33) celebrated a highly prestigious silver medal to wrap up an exceptionally successful team campaign. The roster of Thibaud Bekkat, Salim Heroui, Rayan Sadli, and Selyan Aoudia advanced through the quarter-finals via a walkover following a Kenyan withdrawal, before hitting full competitive stride in the semi-finals, where they executed an incredibly dominant 45–25 routing of the higher-ranked Angolans.

Angola (World number 22) captured the bronze medal following a breathtaking third-place play-off that featured some of the most volatile momentum swings of the entire week. The opening three legs produced absolute madness. Angolan star Luis Macedo kickstarted the match with a sharp 5–1 run against Senegal's Abdourahmane Sy.

Then, Senegal's individual silver medallist Robin Noe produced a jaw-dropping response, demolishing Adilson Antonio 9–0 to put the Senegalese up 10–5. Refusing to back down, Angola's Antonio Pedro immediately reversed the tide, blasting through Philipe Mendes 10–2 to hand Angola a 15–10 lead. From there, the Angolan trio completely bossed the strip. The high-energy roster of Philipe Mendes, Abdourahmane Sy, and individual silver medallist Robin Noe earned their place in the final four by engineering a brilliant 45–36 quarter-final victory over host nation Ivory Coast. While they fell short of the podium, Noe's sensational 9–0 blitz in the bronze medal match provided one of the definitive individual highlights of the final day.
