VANCOUVER, CANADA - 7 DECEMBER 2025

The World Number 4 Estonian Women's Epee team, featuring Embrich, Beljajeva, and Lehis, won a dominant gold medal at the Team World Cup in Vancouver. Estonia defeated the surprising Hungarian team 45-22 in the final, establishing an early lead and pulling away comfortably.

Hungary, ranked 10th in the World, delivered an exceptional performance to claim the silver medal. The team of Dekany, Buki, Borsody, and individual bronze medallist Muhari had an incredible run to the final, notably knocking out World Number 2 France and World Number 3 Korea.

World Number 1 Italy, lining up with Caforio, Kowalczyk, Paulis, and Santuccio, secured the bronze medal after defeating World Number 3 Korea 45-31 in the third-place play-off.

Path to the Podium

Estonia's path to the final required great composure. They edged out World Number 6 China 34-33 and then secured another narrow victory against World Number 1 Italy 38-35 in the semi-finals, holding a slight lead throughout both contests. In the final, Estonia demonstrated complete control against Hungary, securing a decisive 45-22 win.

Hungary's impressive journey to the silver medal included major upsets. They defeated World Number 7 Ukraine and then narrowly beat the heavily favoured World Number 2 France 40-39. In the semi-final against Korea, Hungary fought back from an early deficit to win 45-41.

Italy settled for bronze after a challenging run, including a tight 32-31 win against AIN before losing to Estonia in the semi-finals. However, they dominated the bronze medal match against Korea. Italy established an early 12-3 lead and maintained their advantage, ultimately winning 45-31 to claim the bronze. Korea, who had upset World Number 5 USA earlier, finished fourth.
