đź“… FIE ANNOUNCES RESCHEDULED DATES FOR POSTPONED MARCH EVENTS
LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND — 12 MARCH 2026

The International Fencing Federation (FIE) has officially confirmed the new dates for the World Cup and Grand Prix competitions postponed earlier this month. Following a period of intense coordination with national federations, the FIE Executive Committee has cleared a path for a packed return to action in mid-April.
Interim President Abdelmoneim ElHusseiny expressed the organisation's gratitude to the local organisers for their cooperation in navigating the logistical challenges posed by the recent global uncertainty.
Revised April Competition Schedule
The four major events originally scheduled for March will now take place concurrently next month:
Cairo (EGY): Men’s and Women’s Foil World Cups — 16–19 April 2026
Padua (ITA): Men’s Sabre World Cup — 17–19 April 2026
Athens (GRE): Women’s Sabre World Cup — 17–19 April 2026
Budapest (HUN): Épée Grand Prix — 17–19 April 2026
The FIE website’s official calendar is being updated to reflect these changes. Athletes and delegations are advised to monitor the site for specific entry deadlines and logistical details.
Future Events Proceeding as Planned
In addition to the rescheduling, the FIE Executive Committee confirmed that several upcoming major championships and World Cups will proceed according to their original schedules. These include:
Lima (PER):Â Foil Grand Prix
Astana (KAZ): Men’s and Women’s Épée World Cups
Tashkent (UZB): Women’s Sabre World Cup
Budapest (HUN): Men’s Sabre World Cup
Rio (BRA):Â Junior and Cadet World Championships
